People have a romantic notion of being the hero in bad situations.

Getting in a one on one fight is NOTHING like being in a frightened crowd of people while someone is gunning you down.

Just because everyone didn't go tackly the mass murderer while he was SHOOTING MULTIPLE ROUNDS doesn't make them stupid.

Ugh.

Sadly, sort of. NF has an IRC/chat program and I was basically trying to tell people who live in a mangafantasy world that it isn't that easy.

I've avoided forum discussions on the issue, but I heard it got really bad. >___>

Heh. A similar question was brought up in one of my classes today, but most of the people in there were pretty sane. It's always easy to talk about being heroic after the fact, and when you're not the one involved.

Yeah, it's a huge subject in our school right now. If anything like that came close to my school and I was caught in it, I don't know what I'd do. And that's the truth. Too scared to get near and too scared to move probably. A lot of people (media etc) are spitting ridiculous blames.

I had a similar convo with people in the coffee shop I work at. We all decided that we would be cowards and hide. However, we'd be as safe as we could be... eh who knows.


Is it terrible that I wish that a gunman would shoot my neighbors...they're really loud and my allergies hurt.

I can't even decide what I'd do, except for the fact that I would be scared shitless. I've never been scared shitless so who knows how I would react.
