Deer Frendzlizt,

I've been gone for so long, I almost forgot some of you and I don't know how to keep up. So Imma going to post about Naruto instead.

1. Karin is hot. And bipolar. And has awesome hair. This is irrefutable truth. I honestly am slightly weirded out by the fact that her fandom sparked REALLY fast. In one day she became really loved, the next day I saw her paired up with Sasuke, Suigetsu, Sakura, and oddly enough Naruto. THEN she got an anti fanclub. Her fandom went full circle in a manner of a week. Impressive.

So far, I like her. She interesting and I like how she dupes Suigetsu all the time, while trying to molest Sasuke. It amuses me. I wouldn’t call her a favorite though, I haven’t seen too much of her.

2. Suigetsu, you are awesome. I can’t believe how fast it took for me to endear myself to you. I think it was the “I dunno… maybe because he’s retarted” that won me over. Or that time when he complained about needing a rest every five minutes. Or the fact he spent the better part of his introductory chapter, naked and grinding Sasuke. He just amuses me.

3. Sasuke, when did you get so cool. I remember never caring for you but liking what you did to the manga. Now with you here, it’s like the manga is expodentially getting better. Moar

4. Juugo, crack much?

It seems like we are getting a Sasuke arc. I’m going to repeat what I said before. I think Sasuke arc is just what the manga needs. I don’t want to keep switching from Akatsuki-to Rescue Sasuke- to Akatsuki- ecetera.

It’s a fresh plotline. Even more so, we have awesome new characters to develop. What makes this even better is that it is completely unexpected, no one thought Orochimaru would be gone so quickly (though I stand firm in my belief that he will return.) It also gives time to build up anticipation for Naruto and Sakura.

While I love this new line, it kind of makes me sad. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a huge Team 7 tard. If Sasuke does makes a new time, it makes me think that Team 7 actually will never get back together and that Sai really has taken Sasuke place. Is Sasuke really going to have someone as close to him as Naruto- whom were rivals and brothers? Is he really going to have intense moments of characterization with Sakura? Is he ever going to talk to Kakashi again, who in the databook stated that he was pretty much his mentor and father figure?

Also, Kishimoto,

Orochimaru is dead and Sasuke is free. What the hell is up with the nearly apathetic reactions. OROCHIMARU WAS LIKE A BROTHER TO JIRAIYA. What the hell?!

Also, Bleach.

Stop crying. There’s nothing wrong with this arc. Someone is getting rescued again, ZOMG, THIS IS THE ONLY CLICHED MANGA EVAR. It’s not that bad, and I see it going in a different direction. I’m not usually a fan of Ulquiorra, but him owning Ichigo into last RAW day and having a four on his body… that was nice.

Need more Orihime please D:

My computer is dead. Ugh.

Dear Kabuto,

lol shit...

Sincerely,
Kishimoto

You know, I was wondering what team 7 fans thought of Sasuke's new team. I guess I know now. XD

Team 7 will still have its moments. At the very least, it will have some good heart to heart talk before the end of the manga. Kishimoto has made Naruto angst over Sasuke too long for there to not be some kind of dramatic resolution to at least that particular aspect. XP

Imo, team 7 will probably help with Sasuke's Itachi problem. You see, new characters are nice and all, but as secondary characters, they are in some ways not allowed to have significant impact on the center plotlines. So no worries there. XD

I haven't read the latest chapter by the way, and I don't plan to until next week, but from what people say, it seems Kishimoto botched the Sannin characterization.

I personally think though that it means that he's left it to the anime. He's leaving a lot of things to the anime, in part II. =\

Actually, in my head, I see the manga switching from Naruto's team to Sasuke's team every few arcs. Which would mean New Sasuke team could be something like a new version of main characters. :0 I really hope your right with the team 7 thing T__T

Kishimoto has a grand canyon full of holes in part II >_>

Don't worry! XD If they were That important they'd have appeared in the crucial "first three chapters," as I call them. They won't even be the central focus of This arc! They will probably be developed some during the next battle, but the end of this arc should revolve around team 7.

Afterwards, if these three are still alive, they'd still devolve in terms of importance, much like even Sai has been pretty much ignored. XD

Anyway, in case you haven't read my newest essay on NF: the crucial elements of any arc are announced within the first 3 chapters, either directly (by being shown) or indirectly (by name). This has been true since part I, so much so that I think there's a rule about it. There are unimportant things that appear as well, of course, but the most important things appear within those first three chapters.

Anything that appears after that will at most have partial significance within that one arc, but won't have a very big role afterwards, and won't affect the main plot in a significant way either.

What appeared in the first three chapters of this arc? Sasuke essentially, but also Naruto pondering over Sasuke (among other things). So mark my words: before the arc is over, Naruto will be meeting up with Sasuke.

If you want more on arc structures, you can find my essay in my sig on NF. I hadn't quite anticipated the creation of brand new characters, but on hindsight it wasn't surprising at all (structure-wise). Basically, I'm not too worried about these new characters, save perhaps for the possible future headaches of people complaining that Kishimoto either kills them off too quickly or stops developing them completely. *shruuuuugs*

Hm, interesting essay. I'm not trying to complain about the new characters, because I *do like them, just worried on the overall impact or watering down of Team 7. But you do make a good point about the arc structures.

Though Juugo has been emphasized this arc. While Karin and Suigetsu had one chapter devoted to them, Juugo is pushing three. IMO, there's more to him.

I want to see Sasuke meet Naruto! T___T

Juugo? Well Someone has to have Some sort of development in this arc. He'll probably have some flashbacks at least in the anime.

You see, (and I may just do a quick write-up of this in the future), Kishimoto is actually good at creating new characters.

He's just bad at developing existing ones (especially non main-ones). Oh and he's VERY VERY BAD at developing complex interactions between the support cast and the main cast (indeed among the support cast themselves) in a long-term basis.

The way I see it, Kishimoto's idea of "content" is to bring up a whole new character with a complete new design and background, maybe with some minimal ties to one of the main characters (ie, some same-ish background elements as the main character, as was the case of many characters in Part I), but once that background has been played out, Kishimoto eh... no longer has any idea of what to do with that character.

So he creates a brand new one. >_>

The strength of team 7 is that it's just about the only relationships whose development he upheld in a continued manner. Everything else, Kishimoto just forgets to a point and does the minimum necessary. I won't repeat what I've already said in older essays though. Basically, I think it has to do with how Kishimoto uses a plotline-centric approach, so all the other characters are essentially fill-ins with no actual impact on the plot.

As for Naruto meeting Sasuke... I'm not sure about what I call the build-up/obstacle phase (phase II), but Naruto and Sasuke will surely meet in the main/final phase at least.

Since I haven't read this chapter yet, I'm still not sure what team(s) will be highlighted in phase II. It sounds to me like team Yamato is a good bet by now. We'll still have to see.

At the latest, if my structure predictions are correct, we should know what team will get the center focus in phase II by next chapter. If I'm correct, then at the end of the next chapter, said team will have one of those photo moments at the very end of the chapter (all 4 people together, about to start on a mission or the likes). If it's team Yamato, then team Yamato will actually meet up with team Sasuke quite soon. If it's team Sasuke (and team Yamato hasn't even hinted at leaving yet), then phase II will indeed temporarily focus on team Sasuke. If it's team 8... actually, the chances of team 8 appearing this arc are low by now. It's either next chapter or never.

Of course, this arc could turn out to be an exception to the 3 / 9 chapters rule, and the teams are only revealed one or two chapters later, but meh.

Wow, I never thought of it that way, but you're right. He's got a charm on making characters, but they're warranty doesn't last too long. D: As sad as that is.

There's no way Sasuke and Naruto can't find some resolution. Though, I'm hoping sooner than later. Waiting for the end seems like... a pain.

I'm jumping the gun and saying that there's going to be a Sasuke focus. However, I guess it's not possible to tell until all the characters are introduced, eh?

Still, despite my anxiety and stuff, I have hope for this arc.

*pats you on the back*

Don't worry too much. This arc Will end with some sort of focus on the Naruto/Sasuke relationships. That's how it seems set out to be structure-wise.

Now that the introduction phase is coming to an end, the middle part may attempt to throw you off by focusing on something else, but the end Will have to say Something about the relationship between the two.

If you can't stand the slow pacing that's coming up soon though, I suggest switching to reading only one every two weeks like I did. XD

Naruto is really picking up atm :3

I still like Bleach. I mean, it's not as good as Soul Society arc, but I don't think it's terrible like others say DDD:

SPLIN-SSAANNN YOU LIVEE!(Im too lazy to type your full username XD) SO NICE TO SEE YOUR POST AGAIN!

1)Ehehehehe Karin looks like Sasuke's boobed version! Seriously, she does look like a female version of Sasuke, and the spiky hair, they even slightly resemble Sasuke's. I like her better with her Glasses on. And i really like her Thigh lenght socks or whatever! X3

2) Ahh Suigetsu, how i love your personality, especially when he said "...Maybe he's retarded"
Sasuke - 'wounded pride'
XD And i seem to like his water bottle XD XD XD!
And Juugo looks like a cross between Hitsugaya Toshiro and Hidan. XD

Sasuke's new team really depresses me! Im a team 7 tard too, and the reason why Sasuke team depresses me is because he seems to get along with them! Which breaks my heart as to how ready Sasuke was to kill his older teamates in the Reunion arc. Or maybe im being paranoid!
But i agree with the fact when did he get so cool? I was never much of a Sasuke fan, but.....somehow i cant help liking him now for some reason, and that's sad because i find Naruto's character being supressed lately (which i dont get as to why Kishimoto likes supressing his MAIN character, honestly Sasuke has the popularity of a main charac) It pissed me off that not only he cant use the 4th Tail form as it damages his body, but his uber strong justu is now banned as it damages his body even more.
................Omg i ranted, sorry about that! ^^;

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe he was bluffing? :S Besides, the scene at the Great Naruto bridge shows that he still hasn't forgotten Naruto. *shrugs*

Kishimoto kind of already side-stepped Sasuke's apparently previously killer intents in this arc.

In this arc, Kishimoto has shown that Sasuke is Very good at taking out opponents without outright killing them. With that in mind, no matter what the team 7 reunion Could have meant, one could simply reply that Sasuke intended to take them out without outright killing them. The fact that Orochimaru was watching explains Sasuke's need for deception even more.

I have only one wish regarding Karin, and one wish only. PLEASE DON'T END UP WITH SASUKE OR I WILL CRY. I love the character, but she's a little too deep-end for me right now. Karin + Sai would be so, so much funnier.

xD, I'm actually not fond of Sasuke/Karin myself. I don't know, something about slapping together a pairing after, what, six years where Sasuke existed without her. That's like... wut?
